You have a choice of using ground lamb or leg of lamb (I prefer leg of lamb).
Prepare yogurt dressing. Cook and stir ground lamb; onion and garlic in oil over medium heat until lamb is brown; drain. Stir in salt, cumin and pepper.
If you prefer leg of lamb; I suggest you rotisserie it. As it becomes brown, slice it off. Put the onion and garlic in oil or butter over medium heat until tender; drain, stir in salt, cumin and pepper.
Split each pita bread halfway around edge with
knife; separate to form pocket. Spoon 1/4 of lamb mixture into each pocket.
Top with lettuce and tomato. Serve with Yogurt dressing or ranch dressing.
